Every fee removes CO₂. By rule, not by choice.
Half of every transaction fee buys verified carbon removal. It is written into consensus, so no one can switch it off.
Gas in dollars.
Gas is paid in USDn, a stable dollar. A transfer costs about two cents today and about two cents next year, so people and agents can budget in the unit they already think in.
- A base fee floor keeps the chain from being spammed for free
- Fees rise only under real congestion
- On the testnet, USDn is test money with no value
A swap is about $0.15. The fee a wallet shows is the fee in dollars.
Fee split
Half of every fee, every block.
Each block splits its fees: 50% to the Carbon Fund, 40% to miners, 10% to the validator that sealed it. A block that pays any other way is invalid.
- 01Fees arrive in USDn
Every transaction in the block pays its fee in stable dollars.
- 02Finalize splits them
The same 50 / 40 / 10 split, computed in consensus for every block.
- 03Anyone can check
Every verifying node recomputes the split. A different split is an invalid block.
Removals, not offsets.
The Carbon Fund can only buy carbon dioxide removal: CO₂ taken out of the air and stored, certified under recognised standards. Credits that only avoid emissions do not qualify.
- Reforestation
- Biochar
- Enhanced weathering
- Direct air capture
- Blue carbon
- Soil carbon
One token, one tonne.
Credits are held in a Northern Trust vault. CDRT is minted one to one only after they arrive, and burning it retires the tonne. CDRT is meant to be consumed, not an investment.
Supply on-chain always equals tonnes in the vault, published daily and audited quarterly.
Don't trust it. Check it.
The fee split, the Carbon Fund balance, CDRT supply and every burn are on-chain. Any node recomputes the split for every block.
- Split recomputed by every verifying node
- Carbon Fund spending behind a public 7-day timelock
- Vault holdings audited quarterly
On the testnet the Carbon Fund is a plain balance so the flow can be watched. Purchases start on mainnet.
