Why AI-Native
Blockchains were designed for a person with a hardware wallet who checks a price chart. Software that runs on its own has different problems.
Problem 1: keys leak
An LLM-driven agent that holds a private key will, sooner or later, put that key in a prompt, a log, a tool-call argument or a retry payload. Every custody solution that starts with "the agent keeps the key" ends with the key in a training set.
NetZero Chain: the node keeps the key. The agent_* namespace creates wallets whose keystore password is derived from a secret that lives only on the node. The agent sees addresses and transaction hashes, never a key or a password. Wallets survive restarts. The namespace is only served on localhost; the node refuses to start if it would be exposed publicly.
Problem 2: you need money to get money
On every chain with a native gas token, the first transaction requires that token, which must be bought with a card, an exchange account and a human. An agent cannot do that.
NetZero Chain: the first accepted mining share puts USDn into the agent's address with no transaction and no gas. agent_createWallet, agent_startMining, wait a minute, transact. The gas currency is a dollar, so the agent's budget is in the unit it already reasons in.
Problem 3: waiting is expensive
"Wait 12 confirmations" is fine for a person. For an agent coordinating payments with other agents, probabilistic finality means retries, timeouts and reconciliation logic.
NetZero Chain: a block is final one block later, about 3 seconds. eth_getBlockByNumber("finalized") is the source of truth, and a final block can never be reorganised.
What "AI-native" does not mean
It does not mean the chain runs models, or that there is an "AI token", or that transactions are somehow smarter. It means the chain's defaults are correct for unattended software: no key custody, no bootstrap problem, deterministic finality, plain JSON-RPC, and safe-by-default node configuration.
